[ Terry has his omamori hanging around his neck like a nametag collar, but his omamori has been entirely painted over with dried blood. It's an ugly rust-color now. Not even the flower designs that Rei sewed on them can be seen anymore, much less his name and arcana. Despite that, it's still functional. Terry the pom has the serrated charm knife in his mouth too. He is so ready to take down the Daitengu again!!

His mind goes back to that giant cat with the omamori, and it turns out to be a good idea, because when he crouches down to get a better look, there is indeed one hanging from around the dog's neck.

[Kurou's here, accompanying Sasuke because he's been going through the dungeon solo and even the cat realizes how that can go awry. He's also cautiously approaching Terry with his own wary curiosity.
[ When Sasuke approaches, Terry quickly turns around and his short tail is wagging furiously. He looks very happy to see him and yaps, going around in a circle once to express his joy. The yapping can be translated as: "Sasuke! I'm so glad you're okay!!" then Terry looks at Kurou too.
... It's been 40k+ years. Sorry, Kurou, but he doesn't remember your name. ]
[Oh, this is interesting. Kurou's tail gives a flick, and he actually sits down, watching Terry attentively.
Noticing how quickly Kurou... well, didn't completely drop his guard, but seems less threatened at least, Sasuke gives him a curious look. The cat actually trots over to him, hopping onto his shoulders to better communicate. Sasuke obligingly tilts his head to better hear, and...
[ Terry's ears perk up and he looks super happy now. Yeah, he still smells like cinnamon like always and as if to prove it, he starts zooming very fast around Sasuke's feet. ]
[Well, that's probably as much of a confirmation as he can get. He crouches down to the ground, holding out a hand- does Terry like pets in this form, or no?]
How did you turn into a dog...? And- you were able to deal with your Shadow okay? Kido and I couldn't find you there anymore.
[ He loves headpats, whether he's a dog or a person. He lets out a satisfied noise at that. But, oh. Right. He asked him a question. So he barks twice, which translates to: "I accepted my Shadow then I got sent back home somehow and I lived a lot of years and then I came back! I don't know how that happened."
He lets out a tiny puppy howl and out comes Vassago in his Ultimate form, four wings instead of two, predominantly black, but still with a lot of red, he looks menacing but then he looks down at the pom. He can't believe his host is like this now and disappears as if ashamed. Rude!! ]
[Kurou is trying his best with translating these human concepts from Dog. It does help when Terry summons Vassago however, even if it causes Sasuke to spring back to his feet in surprise.]
[ Another yap that means "I'm old now" which is vague, so he adds another one and whines. "I spent a lot of years back home and a bunch of stuff happened". ]
[ Terry makes such happy puppy noises when his fur is ruffled. It's a bit coarse since he just swam in the lake and got it dry from the cold second floor, but he looks fine for the most part.
But the audio diaries, huh... All those years broke Terry free of the influence that his original had on his life, but he still feels some shame over Sasuke having heard them as if he wasn't supposed to hear that. Or more that, he didn't want Sasuke to hear spiteful things coming out of a voice so similar to his. He'll try to convey that it's okay now and if he ever stops being a dog, he'll tell him the story in full. ]
You don't have to tell me anything you don't want to. [It's not like Sasuke is that important or anything...] I'm just glad you're... mostly alright. [Dog form aside.]
[ This is honestly a conversation they should be having when Terry can speak human, but no, they need to have this now because they haven't seen each other in days after a worrying turning point of when some people thought he was legitimately dead and/or missing and Terry won't stand for this--
So there's a sad growl and a small whine. He doesn't look at Sasuke. He remembers what Minato told him about people dying here.
"Don't throw your life away. You might not come back." ]
Terry hops off Sasuke's foot and faces him, constantly yapping and barking angrily. Even if Sasuke doesn't say that outright, Terry can just feel it being said with how Sasuke says his words. He's angry!! Even though he should have been grateful that he came back for him. But still.
It feels like he's looking at how he was before, with the confidence of not being able to die and being a meatshield for everyone because of that fact alone. He doesn't like it. The barking eventually calms though, and Terry continues to stare at Sasuke's face. If he was human, Sasuke would be getting a full lecture right now, so maybe this is better.
The tldr for Kurou is that Terry is angry. Don't do things without trying to mitigate your chances of dying. ]
[He looks utterly baffled at all this angry yapping. Kurou's not typically a translator, so it's going to take a while until he actually gets the message.]
[Which Kurou honestly turns into a more concise explanation: he's angry you were doing things without trying to watch out for your own life. Which is something Kurou frankly agrees with, even if he doesn't communicate it himself.
At that, Sasuke scowls, looking away again.]

He's just- why did he think there was anything he could do to help? It's probably for the best that Kurou gave him the short version.

[ Terry watches Sasuke's expression fall to a scowl. He recognizes that tone when he says "sorry" too, because he used to use it too. He calms down and tries to think of a god way to convey his feelings. He's sitting and continues to stare at Sasuke in silence before making a small squeaky whine and a puppy howl.
"I'm sorry. I'm sure you wouldn't like it if I died while trying to protect you. Let's get better together when I turn back to normal--if you want to."
Then he toddles back to where he dropped the serrated knife and bites onto the handle to pick it up. ]
