[Sasuke blinks in surprise because holy crap it's a talking animal. It's been a long time since he saw one of those- and a snake, no less.

He actually stands and walks over properly, kneeling down to get a better look.]

We won't hurt you. [And he places a hand on Kurou's head, petting him, calming him. Kurou sits in response, though he keeps his eyes on Jace because he doesn't know enough about this fellow to trust him, tail moving about slowly.] Are you another Persona user?

[ The heck is that--right, it must be the summoner lingo around these parts. Terry told him things, but it's been so long that he's forgotten some of it. He saw several Personas during his stay already though. The snake only moves his head from side to side, saying no. He coils on the towel and relaxes. ]

Are you from here, then?

[He didn't notice any magical animals, but then again, they do typically try to stay hidden.]

[ "I am from a land, far, far away."

He opens his eyes, staring at Sasuke while still being in the relaxed coiled position. His voice sounds like a human adult male. His tone of voice is flat and deadpan, but that's just how he is. No offense. ]

This is a contained world, so... probably a different one from this.

Are you a snake that gained sentience? Or... [Who knows. Some other kind of spirit???]

[ Hm. Sasuke is asking peculiar questions... He can just answer them all, but he's not Terry.

"Will you have something to gain if I tell you?" ]

You... remind me of some snakes I knew from home, so...

[He's wondering if they're similar?]

[ Talking snakes reminds Sasuke of where he came from, huh... He doesn't look particularly surprised at that, but there is some interest.

"The snake was once a companion of a higher being in existence. That being has since passed away and I was shoved into this body after I died." ]

...I see. [It sounds like something out of myth, but then again, so do transforming foxes and tanuki, so.] Why did they choose you?

[ "I don't know."

Yeah, he really doesn't. He doesn't even know who stuffed his soul into a snake, but that's all he'll say about it unless Sasuke questions him further. ]

It can be hard to understand creatures like that.

What are you trying to do in the meantime?

[ "I've been trying to find someone. He doesn't seem to be at the school anymore."

There's something like a mimicry of a sigh from him as he closes his eyes.

"I have a favor to ask. Can I borrow your leg? I'm cold." ]

Oh... sure.

[He has no problem with this, and his pants are high water anyway because that's just their uniform for some reason. Go for it snake friend.]

What's your friend's name? Or what does he look like?

[He's seen a lot of the people around here, so he might be able to help...]

[ As long as Sasuke is warm and dry, it's fine. He carefully goes over under Kurou's possible scrutiny and gently wraps himself around Sasuke's leg below his knee. Ahh, warmth. Very nice. He can relax like this.

"He has black hair, brown eyes, and looks like an idiot 90% of the time." ]

[Kurou's watching, but it's no more alert than he already was. He's used to snakes, and well trained enough not to attack them on sight unlike some people.]

There's a lot of people matching that description here. Is there anything else?

[ Those poor snakes lol... and does that imply Sasuke thinks most of them look like idiots. Because that's hilarious.

"He also smells like cinnamon all day." ]

[Shhhhhhhh. Even Sasuke can recognize when people are... kind of dumb. He's just polite enough not to say anything.]

[ "He certainly built a network here... that's nice. It's just like how he told me. But yes, I am looking for him. You can say that I am like his babysitter because said baby has an on-demand easy to press nuke button."

Well, Jace trusts Terry with the longbow of mass destruction, but he likes cracking dry jokes like these every now and then. ]

Finally, someone who knows that Terry is so hard to handle with one person alone. Jace sighs, though it's just his snake mouth being open for two seconds.

"He told me stories about this place and all the friends he made in it. It was quite the tale." ]

[ "About how he was happy here with his friends, despite the hardships that came along."

It's a very Terry-like answer, if you forget about the Shadow fiasco.

"He also felt regret for the longest time. He mentioned that the same friends were murdered because of him. He wanted to apologize to everyone, but couldn't."

[Oh... Yeah, he can guess what that's about.]

...I knew what I was getting to when I kept going to talk to him.

[It's more of a shame he wasn't able to actually help in the end.]
